Leslie Wolf | Director

Leslie Wolf is a Finance Manager at Sanford Health with over 8 years of Finance experience. Leslie graduated from North Dakota State University with a bachelor’s degree in Finance and the University of North Dakota with a Masters of Business Administration. She enjoys spending time on Pelican Lake with family during the summer and loves the little, every day moments with her children. Leslie, her husband Chad and two young children live in Fargo, ND.  Leslie will serve as a Director on the Operations committee,

Jenna Gilbertson | Director

Jenna is originally from the Detroit Lakes, MN area, and though she now lives in Fargo, considers herself a Minnesota Girl for life. She is the office manager and optician at McCulley Optix Gallery, and Vision Therapist with McCulley Vision Therapy. She has a bachelor of Arts in Youth and Family Ministry from Trinity Lutheran College, and was a participant in the 2015 class of United Way's 35 under 35 program. She believes strongly in empowering girls to run the world.

Trudy Boelter | Director

Trudy Boelter is a Technical Support Engineer II with Consolidated Communications. She has held many titles during her 15 years with the company giving her a great deal of experience with multiple departments and personalities. Her experiences range from customer service, technical/behind the scenes and supervisory roles. Trudy has volunteered for many organizations and has been a member of Consolidated’s annual United Way of Cass Clay fundraiser committee. She is an active volunteer at Olivet Lutheran Church and has served as a BIO Girls mentor for two years. Trudy lives in Moorhead, MN with her husband and four children.


​​​Lisa Klabunde | Programming Chair

Lisa Klabunde is the Executive Director of the Coalition to End Child Sexual Abuse, a prevention campaign that is committed to mobilizing our entire community to end child sexual abuse through education and awareness. Prior to accepting this role, Lisa spent several years in education as a middle school counselor at Cheney Middle School in West Fargo, ND.  She will use her education background and social-emotional lens to grow and support the BIO Girls curriculum. She is a graduate of North Dakota State University and received a Masters Degree in Counseling from the University of Mary, Bismarck, ND. A mother to a young son, Lisa and her husband Jerod reside in West Fargo, ND. 

​​Kristi Spindler | Director

Kristi Spindler, Human Resources Director at Obermiller Nelson Engineering, has over 13 years of human resources experience with most of her career focused in the engineering consulting industry. Kristi grew up just south of Duluth, MN, lived in Minneapolis for 10 years after receiving her undergrad, and has now been in Fargo with her husband and two daughters for the past three years. Kristi received her bachelor’s degree from The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN and has a Master’s degree in Organizational Management from Concordia University in St. Paul, MN. Kristi has been an avid soccer player her entire life and volunteers as a soccer coach for her daughters’ soccer team.

Missy Heilman | Chairman

Mom to three daughters, lifelong runner, and on a mission to to help all girls know they are beautiful inside and out, Missy Heilman founded BIO Girls in 2013 and serves as the Board Chair and Executive Director.  Prior to following her passion, she worked in the marketing industry for 15 years; most recently the Director of Marketing for Dynamic Communities. Missy serves on the church council and volunteers in student ministries at Olivet Lutheran, Fargo.  She graduated from the University of North Dakota with degrees in Exercise Science and Nutrition and North Dakota State University with a Masters of Business Administration.  Missy, her husband Tom and three children reside in West Fargo, ND.

Lori Pearson | Strategic Alliances Chair

Lori Pearson has spent the last 18 years as a Special Education Strategist with the Fargo Public Schools.  In addition to teaching, Lori has a passion for philanthropy. For the past 5 years, she has facilitated the Oxbow-Hickson Kids Care Club (a children's philanthropy group) and volunteered with the children and families at Churches United for the Homeless in Moorhead, MN. As an active member of Kindred Lutheran Church, she has taught Sunday School and served on the Youth and Children's Ministry Committee.  She is currently the director of the Kindred Lutheran Church Youth Group and the director of the Faith Formation and Growth Team on church council. And for the past 2 years, Lori has enjoyed her time as a BIO Girls mentor. Lori lives with her husband, Jim, and three children in Oxbow, ND.

Sara Lau | Director

A native of Fargo, Sara Lau is currently a Division Accountant for Catholic Health Initiatives and holds her CPA certification.  Prior to this role, she worked for Eide Bailly specializing in public accounting in the healthcare industry.  Sara holds a Business Marketing Degree from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Minnesota State University Moorhead.   She currently volunteers as the Treasurer for Trinity Lutheran Church’s Women’s board. Sara, her husband Matthew and young son live in Moorhead, MN.  

Jamie Passanante | Treasurer

Jamie Passanante is the owner of Accounting4Success, an accounting and tax firm in Fargo, ND.  Before joining the firm in 2014, Jamie worked for Tharaldson Ethanol and affiliate companies and an accounting firm in White Bear Lake, MN.  She is a graduate of Concordia College in Moorhead.  With three active children, Jamie volunteers as a basketball coach, Sunday School teacher and when time allows fits in some exercise for herself.  Jamie serves as treasurer overseeing the financial health of BIO Girls. Jamie, her husband and children live in Fargo, ND.

Alison Zima | Director

Alison Zima is the Director of Information Services for the South East Education Cooperative. Alison has nearly 10 years of communications and marketing experience along with program management and information technology services. She is also an executive founding member of the Power of 100 Women Who Care of the Red River Valley.  A graduate of Minnesota State University Moorhead , she earned a Bachelors degree in Mass Communications with an emphasis in advertising and public relations. She lives in West Fargo with her husband Tyler and two-year-old son.  She will serve as a Director on the board with a focus on marketing.
