Director of Programming
Each week an age appropriate theme is introduced focusing on topics covering Self-Image & Empowerment, Health & Wellness, Servant Leadership, Healthy Relationships and Kindness & Compassion. The girls meet in a large group for an overview and then break into small groups with their mentor to discuss the topic or complete an associated activity.
BIO Girls Mission Statement: BIO Girls helps girls build confidence through life-skills lessons, mindful mentoring and physical perseverance.
BIO Girls is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) organization based in Fargo, ND with locations in Minnesota and North Dakota. Each BIO Girls site meets weekly over the course of 10-12 weeks to train their mind, body and soul. Participants gain the tools and confidence needed to navigate adolescence, dream big and have the confidence to be themselves. The program concludes with the running of a local 5K race.
Small group mentoring is a vital component of the BIO Girls program. With a ratio of 1 mentor to 4 participants relationships are formed. The mentors serve as a positive role model, cheerleader, confidant and work to challenge the girls to gain confidence where necessary. These relationships often last well beyond the 12-week program.
Community Health Degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato.

BIO Girls uses physical fitness, primarily non-competitive running as a tool to build self-confidence. Children gain confidence by experiencing a series of successes. We provide the girls an opportunity to be successful each week with the workouts which are geared towards helping them accomplish their end-goal of a 5K race.
